Student Eligibility Policy
Effective Date: 14 September 2026 · Last Updated: 14 September 2026
1. Student Loan Trust Eligibility
This page summarises eligibility guidance for students using Student Laptop GH. Formal eligibility assessment and approval are carried out by the Student Loan Trust (SLT), not by Student Laptop GH.
The Student Loan Trust device programme is available exclusively to students who meet the programme's eligibility requirements and are enrolled at participating universities or institutions in Ghana. Eligibility is subject to Student Loan Trust (SLT) review and approval.
2. Participating Universities
Students must be enrolled at one of the institutions officially participating in the Student Loan Trust programme. The list of participating institutions is shown on Student Laptop GH and may be updated from time to time.
3. Student Requirements
To apply, a student may be required to:
- Be currently enrolled at a participating institution;
- Provide a valid student ID;
- Provide accurate personal information;
- Provide a valid student email address or other approved contact information;
- Meet the applicable academic or programme requirements;
- Complete the required identity verification process;
- Meet any additional requirements established for the relevant programme period.
4. Information Used for SLT Review
Student Loan Trust may assess eligibility using information provided by the student through Student Laptop GH and, where authorized, information provided or confirmed by the participating institution or Student Loan Trust programme administrators. Review processes may include:
- Student ID verification;
- Institution verification;
- Programme verification;
- Academic-level verification;
- Identity verification.
5. One Application Rule
Unless the programme expressly provides otherwise, a student may only maintain one active device application or referral at a time. Creating multiple accounts or applications to obtain additional allocations may result in rejection and disqualification from the programme.
6. Applications That SLT May Decline
An application may be declined by SLT if:
- The student is not enrolled at a participating institution;
- Student information cannot be verified;
- The student provides inaccurate or fraudulent information;
- The student does not meet the programme requirements;
- The student already has an active programme application where duplicate applications are prohibited;
- The required device is not available;
- Other applicable programme requirements are not satisfied.
7. Changes in Eligibility
Eligibility requirements may change between programme periods. Students should review the eligibility requirements applicable to the programme period in which they are applying.
8. Device Selection Does Not Guarantee Approval
Reviewing this guidance or completing a device selection does not automatically guarantee device allocation or approval. Applications may still be subject to Student Loan Trust review, available inventory, funding availability, approval requirements, or other programme constraints.
